A joint security operation between National Security, Customs and the Royal Gendarmerie at the Karkarat crossing point, south of Dakhla, at midday today, Saturday June 11, resulted in the failure of an attempt to smuggle two tons of narcotics and 79 kilograms of chira on an international transport truck registered in Morocco.
A report to the General Directorate of National Security indicates that the aforementioned truck was subjected to a thorough inspection by trained dogs, which resulted in the discovery of two tons and 79 kilograms of chira hidden and packed in food boxes. .
The same source added that the driver of the truck used in the attempted smuggling of the seized drugs has been arrested, he is a 67-year-old Moroccan citizen.
A preliminary investigation has been opened in this case by the territorially competent security service under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, in order to reveal all the circumstances and circumstances of this case, as well as to identify the identities of all those involved. in this one. , as well as to monitor the extensions of these criminal acts, whether within Morocco or at the regional and international level.
